Education

Lucia DeChino is an artist living in New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts Degree from Kean University. She continued post graduate work from The School of Visual Arts (NYC), The Gemological Institute of America (NYC-CA), and Silversmithing with Alan Place, Master Silversmith from Australia and England, in (NJ).

Career

Lucia taught art for 10 years at the elementary level. She left teaching to pursue a career in jewelry design. Her jewelry was chosen by Vera Wang to grace the cover of Vogue Magazine. She also had her jewelry photographed in Harper's Bazaar and Time magazine with Calvin Klein's collection. Her jewelry was sold in Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Brooks Brothers and numerous boutiques. She left jewelry design and returned to painting. After painting Still Life and Nudes, her interest in portraiture blossomed. She specializes in family portraiture but due to overwhelming requests for man and woman's best friend; it has prompted her to accept commissioned dog portraits.
